ORGANIC WINES FROM PIEMONTE!
Wednesday, September 25th at 6pm!

We are pleased to welcome our special guest, Giovanna Bagnasco, wine maker from Agricola Brandini, to introduce us to the organic wines of the Brandini Estate. An authentic meal in the traditional style of Piedmont will be served.

The Brandini Philosophy
“We have always believed that organic is a way of life rather than a method of production, we believe in the importance of this philosophy in order to leave the ground in better conditions than we found it. Our grapes are grown in full respect of the wonderful land that hosts us, of the people who work there and of the consumers who choose us. Sometime, to follow an ideal, one must have the courage to face more difficult paths.”

Historically, Christmas Eve in Italy was a day for fasting, avoiding meat and dairy all day, to later enjoy a cena di magro or “light dinner,” often incorporating fish. This tradition dates back centuries, and was particularly important in the Southern part of Italy, known for its abundant seafood. Wholly embraced by Italian-Americans, the Feast of the Seven Fishes has been elevated to an evening-long parade of dishes in which at least seven types of seafood are served, a custom thought to represent the number of sacraments in the Catholic Church.  Regardless of the historic religious symbolism, the focus of the meal is to gather family and friends together to celebrate the holidays and enjoy delicious food.

*We do not offer any other pre-fix menus when serving La Vigilia*
